My name is Alice Knight. I go to school in Hampstead at Devonshire House Prep School. I am in year 5 and I am dyslexic. I love stories, hearing them and telling them. I sometimes find it challenging to concentrate on reading and writing down my ideas. This is why my mum and I had the idea to start a blog. Here I will share with you the books I am reading. I will tell you about the characters, the thoughts I have on the stories I am reading and will try my best not to spoil the excitement for you.
Right now I am reading The Tiger Rising by Kate Di Camillo. She is also known for The Tale of Despreaux that was made into an animation film.
I am on chapter 14 and I will now introduce you to the main characters. The story takes place in Florida and the main character is Rob. Rob has no brothers or sisters he has a dad and no mother. His mother died six months ago. The next character is Sistine. Sistine has no brothers or sisters like Rob. Her mother and father are separated and she lives with her mother. Last but not least the tiger. The tiger is very big and unlike other tigers he is orange and gold.
The narrator talks about his mother a lot in the book. He has not thought about her since her death. Sistine is a new girl in his school. They like each other and both really like the tiger. It has been kept in a cage and Rob has been watching him for a while. Once Sistine set her eyes on the tiger she immediately loved it.
Footnote: My mum helped me a quite bit with starting the blog and editing the first post. From now on, I hope I can (mostly) manage on my own and I will do my best to keep my spelling in check, but please bare with me I need a lot of practice.
